ECO Stars Dundee member: Dundee City Council 4*

Dundee City Council operates the most diverse fleet of all ECO Stars members in Dundee – in total, there are more than 450 vehicles including heavy goods, light goods, small vans and passenger carrying vehicles. Together they cover a vast array of activities ranging from waste management, winter gritting, grounds and building maintenance, street cleaning and landscaping. The ECO Stars team awarded an impressive four star rating to the overall Dundee City Council fleet.

Gary McRae, Dundee City Council Corporate Fleet Manager said, “We are really pleased to have been awarded such a high star rating. Typically public sector fleets stay in service longer than normal commercial fleets as our vehicles’ annual mileage is far lower – this combined with the fragmented make-up of the fleet usually results in a lower star rating. Four stars is a real testament to the commitment we make to minimising our effect on the environment".
