ECO Stars Dundee member: ALcontrol Laboratories 4*

ALcontrol Laboratories is one of Europe’s

largest independent laboratory organisations working as a trusted partner to customers in 11 countries including a network of state of the art facilities across the UK. ALcontrol has specialised in the analytical testing of Environmental, Food, Water and Oil for over 30 years and currently employs around 1500 staff. Their UK businesses operate a fleet of around 60 vans that collect samples from clients and deliver to their network of laboratories for testing. They have achieved a Four Star rating in the ECO Stars scheme.

ALcontrol is always looking to improve. Ben Tranmer (Health, Safety & Environment Manager) said they first heard about ECO Stars through another member and thought it was a great idea. “As an ISO14001 certified business we strive for improved environmental performance and have placed an increasing emphasis on our fleet activities over the last year. We’ve already made a significant investment in new technology and are delighted to have our commitment rewarded with a Four Star rating. Our ultimate goal is Five Stars and engagement from our employees through working with ECO stars has already identified strategies that will enable us to achieve this!"
