    overnight (10.00 pm – 6.00 am) lane closures on Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 August for bridge inspections.  

Report for Week Commencing Monday 8 August 2022

  • Candle Lane (Allan Lane to Dock Street)    

    closed until 31 August 2022 for sewer works/utility connections/retaining wall works for a new housing development.  

  • Eliza Street (Albert Street to Dura Street)   

    closed for 12 months to facilitate safer streets for pedestrians and cyclists.  

  • Craigie Street (Albert Street for 25 metres eastwards) 

    closed for 12 months to facilitate safer streets for pedestrians and cyclists.  

  • Rose Lane/Tulloch Crescent/Arthur Street

    closed for 9 months for structural works as part of forthcoming new housing development.   

  • Millers Wynd 

    closed at its junction with Hawkhill for major construction works.  Start date Monday 27 June for 6 months.  

  • South Tay Street

    3-way temporary traffic lights from Monday 8 August for 3 weeks for footway resurfacing.  

  • Dalrymple Terrace

    traffic control from 8 August  for 10 days for street lighting work.  

  • B978 Baldovie Road Northbound nearside lane closure

    from 8August for 7 Weeks for Fithie Footbridge.  

  • Perth Road drop kerb on North kerb line opposite riverside underpass path

    from 8August for one week.  

  • A90 Kingsway (prior to Strathmartine Road roundabout) 

    overnight (7.30 pm - 6.30 am) lane closures on Monday 8 and Tuesday 9 August for pedestrian crossing work.  

  • A92 East Dock Street

    overnight (7.30 pm – 6.30 am) overnight south bound lane closure on Monday 8 August for lining work.  

  • A92 DBFO (at Balgillo roundabout) 

    closed overnight (7.00 pm – 6.00 am) Monday 8 to Wednesday 10 August for carriageway resurfacing.  

  • Seagate (at Gellatly Street)

    mini contraflow until Monday 8 August for Virgin Media work  

  • Hillcrest Road closed at No 23 for one month for redevelopment works on existing house

    closures will be intermittent and each should last no more than several days.    

  • Dundee Road (at Ellislea Road)

    temporary traffic lights for one week for Scotland Gas Networks work.

    prohibition of turns into Greenmarket and South Marketgait; mini contraflow and temporary traffic lights from Monday 8 August for one week for Scottish and Southern Energy Networks work.

    closed from Monday 8 August for one week for carriageway patching works.    

  • The Esplanade, Broughty Ferry

    closed between Castle Lane and Bridge Street for Active Travel Improvements from 8 August for 7 months.

    temporary traffic lights Monday 8 August for 4 days for footway work.

    temporary traffic lights from Monday 8 (9.00 am) to Tuesday 9 August (6.00 am) for Scottish Water work.

    closed from 9.00 am on Tuesday 9 August until 6.00 am on Wednesday 10 August for Scottish Water work.  

  • Smellies Lane (at Ash Street)

    closed on Tuesday 9 August for BT work.

    closed for its entire length from 23 August for one week for carriageway resurfacing works.

    closed from Monday 5 September for one week (8.00am – 5.00pm) for rail bridge maintenance and painting works.   

     

  • Wester Gourdie Cable Renewal Scheme

    rolling footpath and carriageway closures form Monday 5 September for 7 weeks for Scottish and Southern Energy Networks cable renewal scheme as follows: footpath closure (parallel to A90 Kingsway) between Myrekirk Terrace and Balgarthno Road; Myrekirk Road closed south bound between A90 Kingsway and Dunholm Road (for one week approximately during the 7 week programme).

Roads - General

Planned road closures and restrictions are necessary to allow for a variety of maintenance work including resurfacing and reconstruction as well as water, sewer, electricity, gas and telecom supply/renewal/maintenance works, etc.

It may be that the Dundee City Council is not responsible for these works.  However we have a duty to inform the public of any major situation which may arise – planned or otherwise – that may affect their ability to move about the city.  We have included here a listing of road closures and major lane closures or restrictions and the contact numbers for the main utility companies in case you have a query on any specific set of roadworks.

Please note the information provided is current as of the Friday prior to the report date and is subject to change at any time.  Any updates after publication on Fridays are indicated in bold.
