  • A90 Forfar Road (Fintry Drive roundabout to Fountainbleau Drive)

    closed southbound from 7.30pm on Friday 16 April to 6.30am on Monday 19 April for carriageway resurfacing.

Report for Week Commencing Monday 19 April 2021

  • South Castle Street (Riverside Esplanade to Blackwatch Parade)

    closed for 2 months for urban beach development works.

  • Douglas Terrace from Dundee Road to Home Street (Section 1), Douglas Terrace from Home Street to Westfield Road (Section 2), James Place from Westfield Road to Church Street (Section 3), Fisher Street from Church Street to Fort Street (Section 4) and Fisher Street from Fort Street to Ambrose Street (Section 5)

    closed in phases as described for 10 months for Flood Prevention Works.  No more than 2 sections may be closed at the same time.

  • Candle Lane (Allan Lane to Dock Street)

    closed for 4 weeks for crane lifting works for a new housing development.

  • The Esplanade, Broughty Ferry

    1) from a point 110 metres or thereby from the junction with Bridge Street for a distance of 400 metres or thereby in a westerly direction, (2) westbound from Panmure Street to Brook Street and (3) from Brook Street to Castle Lane - closed to vehicular traffic from Tuesday 5 January to provide physical distance measures for higher levels of pedestrians and cyclists.  This closure is expected to be in force for 12 months.

  • Provost Road (Clepington Road to Sandeman Street)

    closed southbound for one week for gas main renewal work.

  • Euclid Crescent/Euclid Street

    closed from Monday 29 March for 5 months for carriageway and footway surfacing works.

  • Ann Street (Nelson Street to Annan Terrace)

    closed for one week for Scottish Water work.

  • St Leonard Road Area

    rolling road closures for 3 weeks for City Fibre cable installation work.  Streets affected are:  St Albans Terrace, St Leonard Road and St Leonard Place.

  • Thurso Crescent (Spey Drive to Charleston Drive)

    closed for one week for City Fibre duct installation work.

  • Courthouse Square/Ward Road

    3 way temporary traffic lights for one week for Road Safety Improvement Works.

  • Gillburn Road (Ambleside Avenue to Derwent Avenue)

    temporary traffic lights for one week for new pedestrian crossing and footpath installation works.

  • Dee Gardens and Etive Gardens

    closed from Wednesday 14 April for 2 weeks for City Fibre duct installation work.

  • Kirkton Area 2

    rolling road closures for 2 weeks for City Fibre cable installation work.  Streets affected are:  Ashmore Street, Beauly Avenue, Craigmore Street and Dunmore Street.

  • Balgowan Area

    rolling road closures from Wednesday 14 April for 3 weeks for City Fibre cable installation work.  Streets affected are:  Loftus Road, Pitcairn Road and St Lukes Road.

  • Strathmartine Road (at Symers Street)

    temporary traffic lights for one week for City Fibre duct installation.

    road narrowing from Monday 19 April for 2 weeks for junction resurfacing works.

    closed from Monday 19 April for 3 days for drainage works.

  • St Leonards Place (Macalpine Road for a distance of 100 metres eastwards)

    closed from Monday 19 April for 3 weeks for facilitating gas and water main installation for a new housing development.

    closed from Monday 19 April for 5 working days for carriageway patching works.

Planned road closures and restrictions are necessary to allow for a variety of maintenance work including resurfacing and reconstruction as well as water, sewer, electricity, gas and telecom supply/renewal/maintenance works, etc.

It may be that the Dundee City Council is not responsible for these works.  However we have a duty to inform the public of any major situation which may arise – planned or otherwise – that may affect their ability to move about the city.  We have included here a listing of road closures and major lane closures or restrictions and the contact numbers for the main utility companies in case you have a query on any specific set of roadworks.
