Report for Week Commencing Monday 27 September 2021

  • South Castle Street (Riverside Esplanade to Blackwatch Parade)

    closed for 2 months for urban beach development works.

  • Fisher Street from Church Street to Fort Street (Section 4), Fisher Street from Fort Street to Ambrose Street (Section 5), Ambrose Street to Gray Street (Section 6) and Gray Street to St Vincent Street (Section 7)

    closed in phases as described for 10 months for Flood Prevention Works.  No more than 2 sections may be closed at the same time.  Beach Crescent from Fort Street to St Vincent Street is closed to westbound traffic.

  • Candle Lane (Allan Lane to Dock Street)

    closed until December for crane lifting works for a new housing development.

  • Euclid Crescent/Euclid Street

    closed for 2 months for carriageway and footway surfacing works.

  • A90 Kingsway (at Old Glamis Road roundabout to Claverhouse junction) 

    overnight (7.30 pm - 6.30 am) lane closures for 2 weeks for street lighting work.

  • A90 Kingsway (at Invergowrie roundabout)

    lane closures for 2 weeks for third party works.

  • Eliza Street (Albert Street to Dura Street)

    closed for 15 months to facilitate safer streets for pedestrians and cyclists.

  • Craigie Street (Albert Street for 25 metres eastwards)

    closed for 15 months to facilitate safer streets for pedestrians and cyclists.

  • Laird Street (Macalpine Road to Clatto Gardens)

    closed in phases for 2 weeks for Scottish Water work.

  • SSEN Milton Street Cable Renewal Scheme

    rolling road closures for one week.  Roads affected are:  Hospital Street (Coldside Road to Strathmore Avenue) closed southbound; Strathmore Avenue (Hospital Street to Milton Street) closed eastbound and Milton Street (Strathmore Avenue to West Street) closed.  Closures will run consecutively.

  • SSEN Bus Electrification Scheme (Constable Street to Foundry Lane)

    temporary traffic lights and rolling road closures commencing Monday 20 September for 4 weeks.  Phase 2:  eastbound closure of Blackscroft (Lower Princes Street to Wallace Street).  Phase 3:  closure of Peep O’Day Lane (Broughty Ferry Road to Foundry Lane).  Phases will run consecutively.

    temporary traffic lights for 1 week for footway works.

  • Lochee Road (at Balgayview Gardens)

    temporary traffic lights from Friday 24 September for one week for SGN work.

  • Marlee Road, Broughty Ferry

    closed 27 September for 2 weeks for carriageway resurfacing works.

  • Old Glamis Road (Park Road to A90 Kingsway)

    closed northbound from Monday 27 September for 2 weeks for footway resurfacing works.

  • Coupar Angus Road/South Road roundabout

    single lane closures on southbound and northbound carriageways from Monday 27 September for 4 days for City Fibre works.

  • Nethergate (West Marketgait to South Tay Street)

    closed on Tuesday 21 and Tuesday 28 September for Scottish Water investigation work.

  • Ancrum Road

     temporary traffic lights from Wednesday 29 September for 4 days for City Fibre works.

    closed from Monday 4 October for 4 weeks for carriageway resurfacing.

  • Lothian Crescent (North East Campus for a distance of approximately 275m eastbound)

    temporary speed restriction to 10mph and convoy system from Monday 4 to Wednesday 6 October for Virgin Media works.

  • Salton Crescent (at Lothian Crescent)

    closed from Monday 4 to Wednesday 6 October for Virgin Media work.

  • Victoria Street

    temporary traffic lights from Monday 4 October for one week for SGN work.

    closed from 9 October for 2 days for City Fibre works.

    3 way temporary traffic lights from 11 October for 4 days for City Fibre works.

  • Falkland Crescent , Broughty Ferry

     closed from Monday 18 October (Balgillo Road to Elie Avenue) for 2 weeks for carriageway resurfacing.

  • Seafield Road, Broughty Ferry

     closed from Monday 18 October for 5 days (Church Street to Davidson Street) for carriageway resurfacing works.

  • Strathmartine Road (closed between 5 Ways roundabout and Wedderburn Road)

    work starts on 21 October for 2 days for City Fibre works.

  • Grosvenor Road (Shaftesbury Road to Perth Road)

     closed from Monday 25 October for 2 days for carriageway resurfacing works.

  • Clepington (Provost Road and Forfar Road)

     Road closure from Monday 25 October for 6 days for City Fibre works.

  • Albert Street, Dundee

     closed in 2 separate phases (one Northbound for 2 weeks, the other Southbound for one week) for 3 weeks in total from Monday 25 October for footway resurfacing works.

  • Clement Park Terrace

     closed from 27 October for 3 days for carriageway resurfacing works.

Roads - General

Planned road closures and restrictions are necessary to allow for a variety of maintenance work including resurfacing and reconstruction as well as water, sewer, electricity, gas and telecom supply/renewal/maintenance works, etc.

It may be that the Dundee City Council is not responsible for these works.  However we have a duty to inform the public of any major situation which may arise – planned or otherwise – that may affect their ability to move about the city.  We have included here a listing of road closures and major lane closures or restrictions and the contact numbers for the main utility companies in case you have a query on any specific set of roadworks.

Please note the information provided is current as of the Friday prior to the report date and is subject to change at any time.  Any updates after publication on Fridays are indicated in bold.
