  • City Centre

    various streets within the Inner Ring Road (in the general area of Reform street and Meadowside) for the annual “Santa Dash Christmas Event”.  For one day on Sunday 5 December (8.00am – 1.00pm only).

Report for Week Commencing Monday 6 December 2021

  • Fisher Street from Church Street to Fort Street (Section 4), Fisher Street from Fort Street to Ambrose Street (Section 5), Ambrose Street to Gray Street (Section 6) and Gray Street to St Vincent Street (Section 7)

    closed in phases as described for 10 months for Flood Prevention Works.  No more than 2 sections may be closed at the same time.  Beach Crescent from Fort Street to St Vincent Street is closed to westbound traffic.

  • Candle Lane (Allan Lane to Dock Street)

    closed for 9 months  for crane lifting works for a new housing development.

  • Eliza Street (Albert Street to Dura Street)

    closed for 15 months to facilitate safer streets for pedestrians and cyclists.

  • Craigie Street (Albert Street for 25 metres eastwards)

    closed for 15 months to facilitate safer streets for pedestrians and cyclists.

  • Strawberrybank

    closed at Perth Road (for a distance of 40metres) for 4 weeks for chimney repairs.

  • St Albans Terrace, St Boswells Terrace, St Columbo Gardens, St Giles Terrace and St Fillans Road

    rolling road closures from Friday 3 December for 12 days for City Fibre Works.

  • Finlaggan Terrace (at Finlaggan Crescent)

    closed eastbound from Wednesday 1 December for one week for Scottish Water emergency work.

  • Quarry Gardens (Liff Road to Napier Drive)

    closed northbound from Tuesday 30 November for one week for Scottish Water emergency work.

  • Kettins Terrace

    closed from Monday 6 December for 2 working days for carriageway resurfacing works.

  • A92 Greendykes Road (Broughty Ferry Road to Scott Fyffe roundabout)

    closed northbound overnight (7.30pm to 6.30am) on Monday 6 December for carriageway patching.

  • Gourdie Brae

    closed from its junction with A923 Coupar Angus Road to its junction with Liff Village Road from Monday 6 December for 5 days for drainage works.

  • Strathmartine Road (between Laird Street and St Martin Avenue)

    rolling 2 way temporary traffic lights from 6 December for 9 days for City Fibre works.

  • Tay Square

    closed on Monday 6 and Tuesday 7 December for Virgin Media work.

  • Drumgeith Road

    temporary traffic lights from 9.00am on Monday 6 December to 6.00am on Tuesday 7 December for Scottish Water work.

  • Balgillo Road (at Dores Drive)

    temporary traffic lights from Monday 6 to Friday 10 December for Virgin Media work.

  • Barrack Road

    temporary traffic lights on Monday 6 December for Scottish Water work.

  • Charleston Drive (at Arran Drive)

    temporary traffic lights from Tuesday 7 to Monday 20 December for footway work.

  • Keats Place

    closed from Wednesday 8 December for 3 days for carriageway resurfacing.

     

  • Glamis Drive

    road closure at Invergowrie Drive on Wednesday 8 December for one day for City Fibre works.

  • Strathmore Avenue (between Hospital Street and Five Ways roundabout)

    closed on 11 December for half a day (morning) for City Fibre works.

    road closure between Bruce Street and Strathmartine Road with junction of Strathmartine Road and Mains Road being manually controlled from Monday 13 December for 2 days for City Fibre works.

Roads - General

Planned road closures and restrictions are necessary to allow for a variety of maintenance work including resurfacing and reconstruction as well as water, sewer, electricity, gas and telecom supply/renewal/maintenance works, etc.

It may be that the Dundee City Council is not responsible for these works.  However we have a duty to inform the public of any major situation which may arise – planned or otherwise – that may affect their ability to move about the city.  We have included here a listing of road closures and major lane closures or restrictions and the contact numbers for the main utility companies in case you have a query on any specific set of roadworks.

Please note the information provided is current as of the Friday prior to the report date and is subject to change at any time.  Any updates after publication on Fridays are indicated in bold.
