  • Carnegie Street/North George Street (Carnegie Street for 40 metres west)

    closed for 2 weeks for sewer works.

  • South Castle Street (Riverside Esplanade to Blackwatch Parade)

    closed for 7 months for urban beach development works.

  • Douglas Terrace from Dundee Road to Home Street (Section 1), Douglas Terrace from Home Street to Westfield Road (Section 2), James Place from Westfield Road to Church Street (Section 3), Fisher Street from Church Street to Fort Street (Section 4) and Fisher Street from Fort Street to Ambrose Street (Section 5)

    closed in phases as described for 15 months for Flood Prevention Works.  No more than 2 sections may be closed at the same time.

  • South Ward Road (North Lindsay Street to Argyllgait)

    closed for 7 weeks for building refurbishment works.

  • Dalkeith Road (Phase 1 - Arbroath Road to Waverley Terrace and Phase 2 - Waverley Terrace to Broughty Ferry Road)

    closed in 2 separate phases as stated for 4 weeks for drainage installation.

    closed overnight (7.00pm - 6.00am) from Monday 21 September for 4 nights for carriageway resurfacing.

    off-peak nearside lane closure on Thursday 24 September for Scottish Water ironwork repair.

    Emergency Road Closure from Tuesday 22 September for up to 5 working days for SSEN Electrical repair works.

Roads - General

Planned road closures and restrictions are necessary to allow for a variety of maintenance work including resurfacing and reconstruction as well as water, sewer, electricity, gas and telecom supply/renewal/maintenance works, etc.

It may be that the Dundee City Council is not responsible for these works.  However we have a duty to inform the public of any major situation which may arise – planned or otherwise – that may affect their ability to move about the city.  We have included here a listing of road closures and major lane closures or restrictions and the contact numbers for the main utility companies in case you have a query on any specific set of roadworks.
