As this area is undergoing major redevelopment all enquiries on the status of the roads are to be emailed to the Network Management team:
The online version of LoPR includes roads, footways and footpaths which are the responsibility of the local Roads Authority, Trunk Roads Operator or the Tay Road Bridge Joint Board for maintenance.
Roads and footpaths which are not adopted or maintained by Dundee City Councils local roads authority ( City Development ), but are adopted or owned by another department within the council (i.e. Housing or Economic Development) are not shown. Information on these can be obtained by telephoning the City Development Department on 01382 434428.
It may be the case that while the road is shown as unadopted, the road is in the process of being adopted. Please contact the Development Management (Roads) Team on 01382 433341 in the first instance to discuss this.
In order for Dundee City Council to consider adopting an unadopted length of road, an applicant must providethe following information:
- Details of the road construction make-up
- Details of the road widths and footway widths to be considered for adoption. If possible, shown coloured on a plan
- Details of existing road drainage
- Details of existing street lighting
- Details of existing servcies (eg Water, Electricity, Gas) within the road
It should also be noted the Dundee City Council cannot consider adopting an unadopted road unless supporting evidence is provided in writing to show that a majority of the affected residents agree that the road should be put forward for adoption.
A Road Construction Consent Application must be submitted to Dundee City Council for any works required to bring the unadopted road to an adoptable standard.
To discuss the process for this or for further advice please contact the Development Management (Roads) Team on 01382 433341.
