I DLO/DSO FINANCIAL OPERATING STATEMENTS FOR SIX MONTHS ENDED 30TH SEPTEMBER 2000
There was submitted Report No. 709-2000 by the Chief Executive and Director of Finance appraising the Committee on the financial position of the City Council's Direct Labour Organisation (DLO) and Direct Service Organisation (DSO) for the six month period ended 30th September 2000.
The Committee agreed to:-
(a) Note the current financial position of each of the respective DLO and DSO's and
(b) Instruct the appropriate Chief Officers within each DLO and DSO to take the necessary actions to ensure that the DLO/DSO's budgeted surplus is achieved in the financial year 2000/2001.
II DIRECT LABOUR ORGANISATION OPERATIONAL PERFORMANCE FOR THE SIX MONTHS ENDED 30TH SEPTEMBER 2000
There was submitted Report No. 701-2000 by the Director of Dundee Contract Services informing the Committee of the operational performance of the City Council's Direct Labour Organisation (DLO) for the six month period ended 30th September 2000.
The Committee agreed to:-
(a) Note the operational performance of the DLO for the period stated, and
(b) Where necessary, instruct the relevant Chief Officers within the City Council to take the appropriate steps to ensure the DLO achieves its performance targets.
III DUNDEE CONTRACT SERVICES - SUPPLY OF NEW VEHICLES
There was submitted Report No. 670-2000 by the Director of Dundee Contract Services informing the Committee of fixed prices submitted by commercial vehicle suppliers for new vehicles required by Dundee Contract Services for the financial year 2000/2001.
The Committee agreed to accept the following offers as detailed:-
(I) Arnold Clarke (Renault) Dundee - 65,394 for the supply of nine combination (High Cube) Type Van. This was the second lowest offer and was accepted as a result of driver and operational evaluations over a nine month period of the relative merits of the Vauxhall and Renault models quoted.
(ii) Mutch Mechanical Services, Perth - lowest offer of 20,414 for the supply of two 2.8 TGVW Panel Vans.
(iii) Mutch Mechanical Services, Perth - lowest offer of 20,298 for two 3.5 TGVW Panel Vans.
(iv) Mutch Mechanical Services, Perth - lowest offer of 13,658 for one 3.5 TGVW Tipper.
(v) A M Phillip, Muiryfaulds - lowest offer of 39,530 for two 5/6 TGVW Crewcab Tipper.
(vi) A M Phillip, Muiryfaulds - lowest offer of 18,292 for one 5/6 TGVW Pick-Up.
