The Lord Provost presented the Civic Prize for Quantity Surveying to Ms Lynsey Robertson, Broughty Ferry, Dundee

III ALEXANDRIA CHRISTMAS WALK

It was reported that the Lord Provost, her husband and a Council Officer had been invited to attend the Christmas Walk in Alexandria during December 2000.

The Council agreed that the invitations be accepted.

IV 400TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE PONTIFICAL SCOTS COLLEGE IN ROME

It was reported that the Lord Provost, her husband and a Council Officer had been invited to attend a series of celebrations in Rome during December 2000 to mark the 400th anniversary of the Pontifical Scots College. An invitation had also been extended to the Lord Provosts of Glasgow, Edinburgh and Aberdeen.

The Council agreed that the invitations be accepted, it being noted that the only cost to the local authority would be that borne by the Council Officer.

V PRISON VISITING - CASTLE HUNTLY

It was reported that Ms Joyce Magennis had resigned as a non-elected member of the above Committee.

The Council agreed that Mr Kevin Keenan be appointed.

VI APPLICATION FOR USE - CITY COAT OF ARMS

It was reported that the City of Dundee Bowling Association had retrospectively requested permission to use the City's Coat of Arms in its President's badge of office.

The Council agreed that the request be refused and it be remitted to the Lord Provost to discuss the situation with the Association.
