II WELCOME AND INTRODUCTIONS
The Chairman welcomed everyone to the meeting and invited them to introduce themselves.
III MINUTE OF MEETING OF DUNDEE LICENSING FORUM OF 6TH SEPTEMBER, 2016
The minute of the above-mentioned meeting was submitted and approved.
IV MATTERS ARISING
There were no matters arising which were not covered elsewhere on the agenda.
V SOCIAL ATTITUDES TO ALCOHOL IN TAYSIDE
Dr Drew Walker, Director of Public Health, NHS Tayside, was welcomed to the meeting who gave a presentation relative to the above where the following was noted:-
- Covered broad areas in relation to alcohol purchasing, drinking behaviours, attitudes and availability.
- Range and age of survey respondents.
- Reasons why people drink/do not drink.
- Respondents from most deprived areas were around twice s likely to drink 10+ units as those from least deprived.
- Drinking to excess and "pre-loading" before going out.
- Impact of drinking alcohol.
- Consumption/purchase trends.
- Attitudes and availability.
- Public Awareness of Licensing Board.
Dr Walker was thanked for his presentation where a question and answer session followed.

VII FEEDBACK FROM ALCOHOL FOCUS SCOTLAND REGIONAL LICENSING EVENTS
Blair Finlay reported on the success of the recent Alcohol Focus Scotland Regional Licensing Events.
VIII DEVELOPMENT PLAN
Lorna McCurrach, ADP Development Officer, spoke to the Forum on taking forward a Development Plan.
It was agreed that Lorna would help to move this forward with a view to developing a focused plan along with workshops for Forum members.
IX ALCOHOL AWARENESS WEEK
The Forum were briefed on the recent activities undertaken relative to the above and a campaign to encourage an alcohol free January.
X STAR AWARDS UPDATE
It was reported that only 18 premises had been accredited in 2016. A range of licensing and first aid courses had been carried out.
