Dundee Licensing Forum - 14/08/2017

At a MEETING of the DUNDEE LICENSING FORUM held at Dundee on 14th August, 2017

Present:-

Apologies were intimated from Graeme Petrie, Simon Goulding, Councillor Philip Scott, Drew Walker and Justin Coff

II ELECTION OF CHAIR

The Forum agreed to defer the above to the next meeting.

III MINUTE OF MEETING OF DUNDEE LICENSING FORUM OF 9TH MARCH, 2017.

The minute of the above-mentioned meeting was submitted and approved.

IV MATTERS ARISING

There were no matters arising which were not covered elsewhere on the agenda.

V ALCOHOL FOCUS SCOTLAND UPDATE

Papers were circulated and the following was noted:-

- Alcohol related deaths 2016 statistics

- Minimum unit pricing judgement

- Government alcohol strategy refresh

- Changing Scotlands relationship with alcohol

- Establish target to reduce overall population alcohol consumption in Scotland by 10% in ten years.

VI S.T.A.R. AWARDS/DUNCAN SCHEME UPDATE

The Forum agreed to defer the above to the next meeting of this Group.

VII OVERPROVISION POLICY UPDATE

It was reported that the Licensing Board had instructed the Clerk to the Board to consult on a new Overprovision Policy.

The consultation was ongoing and a report would be submitted to a future meeting of the Board.

VIII RECRUITMENT OF NEW MEMBERS

Blair Finlay re-iterated how important it was to recruit new members to the Forum and for existing members to attend the Forum meetings and contribute accordingly.

IX AOCB

(i) FESTIVE PERIOD SAFETY BUS

It was noted that arrangements were in hand for the Safety Bus to be available in Dundee City Centre during the 2017 festive period.
