II ESTABLISHMENT OF THE CITY CENTRE AND HARBOUR COMMUNITY COUNCIL
The Committee acceded to a request to address the Committee relative to the report. After the deputation had stated their case they were thanked for their attendance and withdrew.
There was submitted Report No 65-2017 by the Executive Director of Neighbourhood Services seeking approval for the establishment of a Community Council in the City Centre and Harbour area, within Dundee City Councils scheme for the operation of Community Councils, as approved on 25th October, 2010 (Article I of the minute of the Leisure, Arts and Communities Committee, Report No 608-2010 refers).
The Committee approved the establishment of the City Centre and Harbour Community Council.
III LITTER ACTION PLANS
There was submitted Report No 69-2017 by the Executive Director of Neighbourhood Services informing the Committee of the development of Litter Action Plans being undertaken in partnership with Zero Waste Scotland. Dundee was the first Council to embark on this approach and was supporting Zero Waste Scotland to refine the model. Action Plans would be completed for each service within the Council and for each school managed by the Council. The report also sought to gain support and encouragement from the Committee for the development of a collaborative Community Action Plan for the City of Dundee, building on the Pride in Your City Campaign.
The Committee approved the approach for the Litter Action Plan and Community Action Plan development and agreed to encourage commitment amongst internal and external stakeholders to contribute to the Community Action Plan.
