I DECLARATION OF INTEREST
No declarations of interest were made.
II INSPECTION OF THE HOUSING SUPPORT TEAM (INCLUDING THE MULTI‑STOREY - HOUSING SUPPORT TEAM) BY THE CAREINSPECTORATE
There was submitted Report No 21-2014 by the Director of Housing reporting on the findings of the Care Inspectorate inspection of the Housing Support Team (including the Multi-Storey - Housing Support Team).
The Committee:-
(i) noted the contents of the report; and
(ii) instructed the Director of Housing to monitor progress towards meeting the areas for improvement contained in the report.
III TENDERS RECEIVED
There was submitted Report No 70-2014 detailing tenders received and requesting a decision thereon.
(a) CRAIGIEBANK SHELTERED DEVELOPMENT WARDEN CALL REPLACEMENT
The Committee agreed to a partnering project with McGill Electrical Ltd, Dundee in the sum of 69,000, together with an allowance of 5,865 for professional services, making a total expenditure of 74,865.
IV CHARTERED INSTITUTE OF HOUSING - ANNUAL CONFERENCE AND EXHIBITION
There was submitted Agenda Note AN12-2014 reporting that the Chartered Institute of Housing Annual Conference and Exhibition would be held on 11th to 13th March, 2014 at the SECC, Glasgow. The estimated cost, excluding travel and subsistence, was 699 per delegate.
The Convener, seconded by Councillor Cordell, moved that elected member attendance at the Conference be on the basis of one member of the Administration and one member of the Opposition.
As an amendment, Councillor Gordon, seconded by Councillor Cruickshank, moved that no elected members attend the Conference.
On a division, there voted for the motion - the Convener, Councillors Guild, Black, Bowes, Campbell, Cordell, Dawson, Hunter, Lynn, McDonald, Melville, Murray, Ross, Bailie Sawers, Lord Provost Duncan and Depute Lord Provost Roberts (16); and for the amendment - Councillors Keenan, Asif, Bidwell, Brennan, Cruickshank, Ferguson, Gordon, McCready, McGovern and Bailies Wright, Borthwick and Scott (12) - whereupon the motion was declared carried.
