The minute of meeting of this Committee of 12th March, 2012 was held as read.

I SHARED PROCUREMENT SERVICE

On a reference to Article I of the minute of meeting of this Committee of 28th April, 2008, there was submitted Report No 126-2012 by the Director of Finance relative to the above.

The Committee:-

(i) agreed that the shared procurement service created in 2008 for the three Tayside Councils be established on a permanent basis as an ongoing service for the Councils;

(ii) agreed that the governance and funding arrangements approved by the Councils in 2008 be continued; and

(iii) noted that the proposals in the report were in the process of being approved by Angus and Perth and Kinross.

II TREASURY MANAGEMENT STRATEGY STATEMENT - ANNUAL INVESTMENT STATEMENT

There was submitted Report No 129-2012 by the Director of Finance introducing the Dundee City Council Treasury Management Strategy Statement and Annual Investment Strategy for 2012/2013.

The Committee:-

(i) noted that in terms of the Treasury Policy Statement, the Director of Finance was obliged to present the annual Treasury Management Strategy at the start of each financial year; and

(ii) approved the strategy proposed by the Director of Finance for 2012/2013 as set out in the document "Treasury Management Strategy 2012/2013".

III TAYSIDE SUPERANNUATION FUND - ACTUARIAL VALUATION AT 31st March 2011.

There was submitted Report No 134-2012 by the Director of Finance updating the Committee on the Actuarial Valuation of the Tayside Superannuation Fund and the Tayside Transport Superannuation Fund at 31st March, 2011.

The Committee noted the information contained within the report.

IV VALEDICTORY - PATRICIA McILQUHAM - DEPUTE CHIEF EXECUTIVE (SUPPORT SERVICES)

Councillor Guild, on behalf of the Council, intimated that Patricia McIlquham was retiring on 30th March, 2012 and thanked her for the services rendered by her in the former Dundee District Council and Dundee City Council. Other members of the Council also paid tribute and Patricia McIlquham replied in suitable terms.

V VALEDICTORY - RORY MALONE, BRANCH SECRETARY, UNISON

Rory Malone intimated that he was retiring from the position of UNISON Branch Secretary. Members of the Committee paid tribute to the services rendered by him.
