I TENDER FOR THE SUPPLY OF FIREWORKS DISPLAYS AT BAXTER PARK AND LOCHEE PARK ON 5TH NOVEMBER, 2009
There was submitted Report No 448-2009 by the Director of Leisure and Communities seeking approval for the supply, delivery and firing of fireworks at Baxter Park and Lochee Park.
The Committee agreed that after evaluation, the offer for both sites from Blast Design Fireworks Ltd of 25,000 be accepted (subject to references).
II TENDER FOR THE SUPPLY OF PLANT AND MACHINERY
There was submitted Report No 446-2009 by the Director of Leisure and Communities seeking approval for the purchase of various items of ground maintenance machinery for the Leisure and Communities Department.
The Committee agreed that the following pieces of ground maintenance equipment be purchased from the undernoted suppliers. After evaluation, the suppliers listed were the most advantageous regarding quality and service:-

III FUNDING FOR CONSERVATION OF OBJECTS
There was submitted Agenda Note AN208-2009 seeking approval for the undernoted expenditure for the conservation of objects selected for display within the refurbished McManus: Dundee's Art Gallery and Museum. The cost of these conservation works would be funded as detailed below:-
- Archival documents, including letters and certificates, at a cost of 3,400, to be undertaken by Scottish Conservation Studio, South Queensferry. To be funded from the McManus Display Fit-out Project.
- Archival documents, including books and posters, at a cost of 5,320, to be undertaken by Books and Paper Conservation Studio, University of Dundee. To be funded from the McManus Display Fit-out Project.
- Plaster frieze depicting the "Procession of King Crispin", at a cost of 29,400, to be undertaken by Egan, Matthews and Rose, Dundee. To be funded by donated funds of 22,000, plus 6,500 from the Conservation Budget - Leisure and Communities revenue budget 2009/2010.
Due to the specialist nature of the work, the contractors were selected using a pre-determined list of criteria.
The Committee approved the expenditure detailed accordingly.
The Committee resolved under Section 50(A)(4) of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973 that the press and public be excluded from the meeting for the undernoted items of business on the grounds that they involved the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraphs 6 and 9 of Part I of Schedule 7A of the Act.
IV APPOINTMENT OF CATERING FRANCHISE - CAIRD HALL
There was submitted Report No 486-2009 by the Director of Leisure and Communities detailing the tenders received for the catering franchise for the Caird Hall and seeking approval to accept the highest rental offer.
The Committee agreed to the acceptance of the tender submitted by a company called Prestige Scotland.
