I ELECTION FOR DUNDEES MEMBERS OF THE SCOTTISH YOUTH PARLIAMENT
There was submitted Agenda Note AN57-2009 advising the Committee that the elections for the Scottish Youth Parliament would take place between 16th and 27th March, 2009. The final count would take place in The Shore on Saturday, 28th March, 2009.
Elections were being co-ordinated by Leisure and Communities Youth Work staff in partnership with Secondary School Pupil Councils and colleagues in the Education Department.
Dundee would be entitled to elect four members of the Scottish Youth Parliament.
Young people in Dundee and the City Council had been consistent supporters of the Youth Parliament since its inception in 1999.
More information about the Youth Parliament and the Dundee elections could be found in the local pages of the national Young Scot website at www.youngscot.org/local/dundee.
The Committee noted this accordingly.
