Unless marked thus * all items stand delegated.
I SUPPLY OF LIBRARY RESOURCES
There was submitted Agenda Note AN39-2009 seeking approval to extend the current Service Level Agreement with library suppliers up until 30th June, 2009.
Leisure and Communities as a member of the Tayside Procurement Consortia were in the process of tendering for library resources and aimed to implement the new contract on 1st July, 2009.
The proposed extension was to allow for the finalisation of the Tayside Procurement Consortia tender process for the supply of library books.
An extension was also requested of the current Service Level Agreement with Rondo for the supply of DVD's up until 31st March, 2010, on the basis that the supplier was meeting all the conditions set by the Council (Article V of the meeting of 20th November, 2006 referred).
The current agreement ensured competitive discounts in this category of stock.
The supply of DVD's was not included in the Tayside Procurement Consortia's invitation to tender for library resources due to the variable needs of participating authorities.
The Committee agreed to the extension of the Service Level Agreement and noted that negotiations for future supply would be undertaken in late 2009.
II EXTERNAL EVALUATION OF LIBRARY AND INFORMATION SERVICES
There was submitted Report No 85-2009 by the Director of Leisure and Communities presenting the results of a review by the Scottish Library and Information Council of the self-evaluation process undertaken by Library and Information Services using the Public Library Quality Improvement Matrix framework.
The Committee agreed to:-
(i) note the content of the report and the attached report from the Scottish Library and Information Council; and
(ii) approve the ongoing self-evaluation of Library and Information Services using the framework described.
III TENDERS RECEIVED - CENTRAL LIBRARY - CONNEXIONS SUITE
There was submitted Report No 96-2009 by the City Architectural Services Officer giving details of offers received for the above contract.
The Committee agreed to accept a partnering project with Forman Construction Ltd, Dundee amounting to 25,188.62, together with an allowance of 4,036 for professional services, giving a total expenditure of 29,224.62.
Richard McCREADY, Convener.
