I CITY OF DISCOVERY CAMPAIGN

 

There was submitted Report No 590-2008 by the Director of Economic Development seeking agreement on the re-positioning and re-branding of the City of Discovery Campaign.

 

The Committee:-

 

(a) agreed to the appointment of the Leith Agency to work with the Council in developing the City's brand, including the future marketing and communications plan and the implementation of the new visual creative; and

 

(b) agreed to accept this report as the basis for the refreshed City of Discovery Campaign from this date forward.

 

II TENDERS RECEIVED - CAIRD HALL - ROOF UPGRADING AND REPAIRS

 

There was submitted Report No 610-2008 by the City Architectural Services Officer giving details of offers received for the above contract.

 

The Committee agreed to accept a negotiated contract with Raynor Roofing Ltd, Dundee amounting to 115,224 to which required to be added allowances of 1,096 for CDM Co-ordinator and 20,080 for professional services, giving a total cost of 136,400.

 

The Committee resolved under Section 50(A)(4) of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973 that the press and public be excluded from the meeting for the undernoted items of business on the grounds that they involved the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraphs 6 and 9 of Part I of Schedule 7A of the Act.

 

III COMMERCIAL LEASES

 

There was submitted and approved Report No 566-2008 by the Director of Economic Development detailing commercial leases in respect of the undernoted premises:-

 

Units 7 and 8, Faraday Street

Unit 23, Mid Wynd

Unit 12, Marybank Lane

Unit 7, Mid Wynd

 

IV RENT REVIEWS

 

There was submitted and approved Report No 567-2008 by the Director of Economic Development detailing rent reviews in respect of the undernoted premises:-

 

Unit 2, Alexander Street

1 Teviotdale Avenue

 

V PROPOSED SALE OF LAND AT 1 HAMILTON STREET, BARNHILL, BROUGHTY FERRY

 

There was submitted Report No 547-2008 by the Director of Economic Development seeking approval for the sale of 0.0067 hectares of land to the southwest of 1 Hamilton Street, Barnhill, Broughty Ferry.

 

The Committee approved the sale on the terms and conditions detailed in the report.

 

VI PROPOSED SALE OF LAND AT 13 ELGIN TERRACE

 

There was submitted Report No 565-2008 by the Director of Economic Development seeking approval for the sale of 0.0090 hectares of land to the east and west of 13 Elgin Terrace.

 

The Committee approved the sale on the terms and conditions detailed in the report.

 

VII PROPOSED SALE OF LAND AT 335 CRAIGIE DRIVE

 

There was submitted Report No 578-2008 by the Director of Economic Development seeking approval for the sale of 0.0038 hectares of land to the east of 335 Craigie Drive.

 

The Committee approved the sale on the terms and conditions detailed in the report.

 

VIII SITE AT OLD KINGS CROSS ROAD

 

There was submitted Agenda Note AN212-2008 reporting that an interested company had applied to lease an area of ground at Old King's Cross Road in order to locate a telecommunications mast. The Committee noted that, following consultation with the Convener and spokespersons for the other Groups, the Director of Economic Development had granted the lease on the terms and conditions detailed.

 

IX SALE OF SITE AT LAIRD STREET

 

There was submitted Report No 579-2008 by the Director of Economic Development seeking approval for the sale of a 0.27 hectare site at Laird Street.

 

The Committee agreed to the sale on the terms and conditions detailed in the report.
