I CIVIC GOVERNMENT (SCOTLAND) ACT 1982
(a) TAXI/PRIVATE HIRE DRIVERS CONDITIONS CARRYING OF GUIDE DOGS AND HEARING DOGS (SCOTLAND) REGULATIONS 2002- REQUEST FOR DISPENSATION

In the case of this application, there being no objections and after consideration of a letter of support which was tabled from the applicant's doctor, the Committee agreed that the application for exemption be granted.

On a reference to Articles IV(b) (8) and (9) of the minute of meeting of the Licensing Committee of 30th June 2003, there were submitted the undernoted applications for temporary licences:-

In the case of application No 1, there being no objections and after hearing the applicant on his own behalf, the Committee agreed that the application for a temporary licence be granted until the September meeting of the Committee.
In the case of application No 2, there being no objections and after hearing the applicant on his own behalf, the Committee agreed that the application be granted until the September meeting of the Committee.

In the case of this application, there being no objections and after hearing the applicant on his own behalf and the observations of the Environmental Health officer the Committee agreed that the application be granted subject to a satisfactory inspection by Environmental Health.
The Committee resolved under Section 50(A)(4) of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973 that the public be excluded from the meeting for the undernoted item of business on the grounds that it would involve the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraphs 3, 6 and 9 of Part 1 of Schedule 7A to the above Act.
II CIVIC GOVERNMENT (SCOTLAND) ACT 1982
(a) TAXI DRIVER'S LICENCE SUSPENSION HEARING
On a reference to Article II(b) of the minute of meeting of this Committee of 5th June, 2003, there was submitted a letter of complaint by the Chief Constable relative to the alleged conduct of Mr J P during the currency of his Taxi Driver's Licence.
The Committee, after noting that the licence holder was not present, agreed that this matter be considered in his absence, after which the Committee agreed that the suspension be continued with immediate effect and that a further suspension hearing be held at a meeting of the Licensing Committee scheduled to take place in October 2003.
