The Sub-Committee resolved under Section 50(A)(4) of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973 that the press and public be excluded from the meeting for the undernoted items of business on the grounds that they involved the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraph 3 of Part I of Schedule 7A of the Act.
I PURCHASE OF HOME CARE EXCEEDING AGREED LIMITS
(a) There was submitted Report No 100-2008 by the Director of Social Work requesting authorisation to purchase home care services for one service user which exceeded agreed authorised limits.
The Sub-Committee authorised payment in respect of this care arrangement until alternative care arrangements could be made.
(b) There was submitted Report No 102-2008 by the Director of Social Work requesting authorisation to purchase care services for one service user in the form of a Direct Payment which exceeded agreed authorised limits.
The Sub-Committee agreed:-
(i) to authorise payment in respect of this care arrangement;
(ii) to note that the cost of the proposed care exceeded agreed authorised limits but would meet needs appropriately and would be subject to regular review and adjusted, as appropriate, should circumstances change; and
(iii) to note that an application would be submitted to the Independent Living Fund which, if successful, would enable the funding commitment to the local authority to be substantially reduced.
(c) There was submitted Report No 101-2008 by the Director of Social Work seeking authorisation to purchase home care services for one service user which exceeded agreed authorised limits.
The Sub-Committee agreed:-
(i) to authorise payment in respect of this care arrangement;
(ii) to note that the cost of the proposed care package exceeded agreed authorised limits but would meet current needs appropriately and would be subject to regular review and adjusted, as appropriate, should circumstances change; and
(iii) to note that an application would be submitted to the Independent Living Fund which, if successful, would enable the funding commitment from the local authority to be substantially reduced.
(d) There was submitted Report No 99-2008 by the Director of Social Work requesting authorisation to purchase home care services for one service user which exceeded agreed authorised limits.
The Sub-Committee agreed:-
(i) to authorise payment in respect of this care arrangement;
