I PROVISION OF FINANCIAL SUPPORT TO VOLUNTARY SECTOR PARTNERS

 

There was submitted Report No 20-2008 by the Director of Education seeking approval to continue to provide funding to voluntary sector partners for the delivery of Dundee's Early Years and Childcare Strategy.

 

The Committee approved the report and funding of 39,955 as outlined in the Appendix to the report noted below:-

II PROVISION OF FINANCIAL SUPPORT TO NEW REGISTERED CHILDMINDERS IN DUNDEE

 

There was submitted Report No 21-2008 by the Director of Education seeking approval to continue to provide funding to registered childminders in Dundee.

 

The Committee approved the report and the award of 200 funding to each of the new childminders in Dundee as outlined in the Appendix to the report noted below:-

III POLICY STATEMENT ON PROVISION FOR CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE WITH SOCIAL COMMUNICATION DIFFICULTIES INCLUDINGAUTISTIC SPECTRUM DISORDERS

 

There was submitted Report No 22-2008 by the Director of Education seeking approval of the Education Department's Policy statement relative to the above.

 

The Committee noted the content of the report and approved the Policy statement.

 

IV TENDERS RECEIVED

 

There was submitted Report No 41-2008 by the City Architectural Services Officer listing tenders received and requesting a decision thereon:-

(i) HARRIS ACADEMY - ALTERATIONS TO SEN BASE

 

The Committee agreed to accept a negotiated offer with Dundee Contract Services for 40,713, together with allowances of 486 for CDM Co-ordinator and 5,801 for professional services, making a total expenditure of 47,000.

 

V SUPPLY OF SPECIALIST MINIBUS FOR KINGSPARK SCHOOL

 

There was submitted Report No 46-2008 by the Director of Education seeking approval to accept an offer for the supply of a specialist minibus for Kingspark School.

 

The Committee agreed to award the purchase of a specialist minibus for Kingspark School, procured via the ABC vehicle framework, to Kerr and Smith, Glasgow for 33,270.
