I SOCIAL WORK COMPLAINTS PROCEDURE

 

There was submitted Report No 235-2006 by the Director of Social Work informing members about the operation and effectiveness of the statutory Social Work Department Complaints Procedure during the calendar year 2005.

 

The Committee agreed:-

 

(i) to note and approve the content of the report;

 

(ii) to instruct the Director of Social Work to inform the Scottish Executive Social Work Services Inspectorate of the content when required for the purpose of inspection; and

 

(iii) to instruct the Director of Social Work to make the contents of the report publicly available.

 

II INTENSIVE SUPPORT AND MONITORING SERVICES

 

There was submitted Report No 228-2006 by the Director of Social Work outlining the development, implementation and the progress of the Intensive Support and Monitoring Service in Dundee.

 

The Committee agreed:-

 

(i) to note and approve the content of the report; and

 

(ii) to instruct the Director of Social Work to provide a further report 12 months after the implementation of Intensive Support and Monitoring Services.

 

III PAYMENTS FOR SERVICES PROVIDED BY VOLUNTARY BODIES 2006/2007

 

Bailie Borthwick declared a financial interest in this item by virtue of his employment with Age Concern and withdrew from the meeting during consideration of this item.

 

Councillor Shimi declared a non financial interest in this item by virtue of her appointment as a Council representative to Carolina House.

 

Councillors' Hind and Webster declared non financial interests in this item by virtue of their appointments as Council representatives to Tayside Association for the Deaf.

 

There was submitted Report No 236-2006 by the Director of Social Work detailing recommendations of the Director of Social Work on the level of payments for services provided by voluntary organisations for 2006/2007.

 

The Committee agreed to the payments to the voluntary organisations listed below at the levels outlined, subject to the Director of Social Work remaining satisfied that the service provided met the service specification:-
