The minute of meeting of this Committee of 21st November 2005 was held as read.

I PURCHASE OF WHEELED BINS
There was submitted Report No 746-2005 by the Head of Waste Management seeking authorisation for the acceptance of prices for the purchase of wheeled bins until 31st December 2006.
The Committee agreed:-
(i) that the offer from SSI Schaeffer for the supply of grey (domestic) bins, blue (paper) bins and green (glass) bins in 140 litre, 240 litre, 360 litre and 1100 litre sizes be accepted as outlined in the report;
(ii) that it be noted that this company was the current supplier and has a proven record for reliability and delivery; and
(iii) that the offer from Otto (UK) Ltd for the supply of 180 litre (grey, blue, green) and compostainers (brown) bins be accepted as outlined in the report.
II PURCHASE OF VEHICLES
There was submitted Report No 747-2005 by the Head of Waste Management seeking authorisation to purchase three replacement light vehicles.
The Committee agreed to accept the offer from Vardy Van Centre, Glasgow (via ABC procurement) for three light vans amounting to 20,371.05.
III SUPPLY OF REPLACEMENT CUTTERS
There was submitted Report No 748-2005 by the Head of Waste Management seeking authority for the supply of cutter replacements and other associated parts for the mattress and sprung furniture unit at the Baldovie Waste Recycling & Processing Plant within the Waste Management Department.
The Committee agreed to accept the offer from Martin Environmental Ltd, Ballycare amounting to 23,450.76.
The Committee resolved under Section 50(A)(4) of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973 that the press and public be excluded from the meeting for the undernoted item of business on the grounds that it involved the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraphs 3, 6 and 9 of Part 1 of Schedule 7(A) to the above Act.
IV CIVIC GOVERNMENT (SCOTLAND) ACT, 1982 -SECTION 90 - DEFECTIVE STAIR LIGHTING
There was submitted Agenda Note AN475-2005 detailing Notices which had been served on the owners of properties requiring works to be carried out.
The Committee noted that the Head of Environmental Health and Trading Standards would carry out the works should the owners not comply within the timescales.
