I REVENUE BUDGET 2005/2008

Reference was made to Article II of the minute of meeting of this Committee of 17th January, 2005 and to Article I of the minute of meeting of the Education Committee of 10th February 2005.

The Committee had before them the following:-

(i) PROVISIONAL REVENUE BUDGET VOLUME 2005/2008 (REPORT NO 118-2005)

(ii) REVIEW OF CHARGES 2005/06 (REPORT NO 119-2005)

(iii) REPORT NO 120-2005 BY THE DEPUTE CHIEF EXECUTIVE (FINANCE)

The Committee gave consideration to the recommendations in Report No 120-2005 as far as its interest was concerned and

(i) noted the procedure for setting the 2005/06 revenue budget and council tax as previously agreed by the Policy and Resources Committee on 17th January 2005 and set out in the appendix to the report;

(ii) noted the contents of the provisional 2005/2008 revenue budget volume;

(iii) noted those factors which required to be considered when setting the final revenue budget and council tax for 2005/06 as detailed in paragraphs 6.1 to 14.2 of the report and

(iv) noted the latest position regarding the announcement of indicative council tax levels for 2006/07 and 2007/08 and set out in paragraphs 15.1 and 15.2 of the report.

(v) remitted further consideration to the Finance Committee.
