I SUPPLY OF GROUNDS MAINTENANCE PLANT AND EQUIPMENT

 

There was submitted Report No 5-2005 by the Director of Dundee Contract Services informing the Committee of fixed prices submitted by suppliers for new grounds maintenance plant and equipment required by Dundee Contract Services for the financial year 2004/2005.

 

The Committee agreed to accept the lowest or most advantageous offer as assessed under Best Value criteria for each category of plant required from the suppliers listed below.

II LAW HILL - SURFACING OF FOOTPATHS

 

There was submitted Agenda Note AN1-2005 informing the Committee that a number of public footpaths through and around the law which are used regularly by local residents are in need of resurfacing.

 

A sum of 10,000, would be available this financial year to start a programme on the worst affected paths, and would be met from the provision of 50,000 allowed for Public Open Spaces under the Department's Capital Estimates for 2004/2005.

The Committee agreed that the works be carried out by Dundee Contract Services at an estimated cost of 10,000.

 

III PEEBLES DRIVE OPEN SPACE - PLANTING

 

There was submitted Agenda Note AN2-2005 informing the Committee that a large area of open space consisting of grass and a toddlers play area in the Whitehazel Park Housing Development would have trees and shrubs planted in and around the boundaries of the open space to enhance the amenity of the area.

 

The work estimated to cost 10,000 would be met from the provision of 50,000 allowed for Public Open Spaces under the Department's Capital Estimates for 2004/2005.

 

The Committee agreed that the work be carried out by Dundee Contract Services at an estimated cost of 10,000.

 

IV WHORTERBANK OPEN SPACE - LANDSCAPE IMPROVEMENTS

 

There was submitted Agenda Note AN3-2005 informing the Committee that the landscape, including a seating area at the Whorterbank Housing Development would be re-landscaped.

 

The work, estimated to cost 12,740 would be met from the sum of 7,325 remaining in the provision of 50,000 allowed for Public Open Spaces under the Department's Capital Estimates for 2004/2005 with the remainder being met form the Department's Capital Estimates for 2005/2006.

 

The Committee agreed that the work be carried out by Dundee Contract Services at an estimated cost of 12,740.
