The minute of meeting of this Committee of 30th September, 2004 was held as read.
Unless marked thus * all items stand delegated.
The Committee resolved under Section 50(A)(4) of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973 that the press and public be excluded from the meeting for the undernoted item of business on the grounds that they involved the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraphs 3, 6 and 9 of Part I of Schedule 7A of the Act.

(a) LATE HOURS CATERING - POLICY
On a reference to Article II(3) of the minute of meeting of the Licensing Committee of 20th October 2004, there was submitted Report No 601-2004 by the Depute Chief Executive (Support Services) reporting on the results of the recently undertaken consultation exercise and outlining options open to members of the Committee.
The Committee gave consideration to a letter submitted by the City Centre Community Council in response to the consultation exercise. The Committee also heard observations of representatives of various late hours catering establishments who were present at the meeting together with the observations of the representative of the Chief Constable, and the observations from Officers from the Safer City Initiative, the Waste Management Department and Environmental Health.
The Committee thanked the representatives of the trade for their attendance and the contribution they had made to the meeting and advised that they would be advised of further consultation in due course.
The Committee resolved under Section 50(A)(4) of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973 that the Late Hours Catering Licence Holders be excluded from the meeting for the undernoted item of business on the grounds that they involved the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraphs 3, 6 and 9 of Part I of Schedule 7A of the Act.
(b) LATE HOURS CATERING - POLICY
The Committee, after consideration of the content of the discussion paper, the observations of the representatives of the late hours catering premises who had been present and consideration of the advice of the Depute Chief Executive (Support Services) agreed that further consultation be undertaken in relation to the evening economy with appropriate agencies.
