The Committee resolved under Section 50(A)(4) of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973 that the press and public be excluded from the meeting for the undernoted items of business on the grounds that they involved the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in Paragraphs 6 and 9 of Part 1 of Schedule 7(A) of the Act.

V FORMER HARRIS ANNEXE (SITE OF), BLACKNESS ROAD

Councillor Shimi declared an interest by virtue of her membership of the Council of Al-Maktoum Institute, University of Abertay.

Reference was made to Article IX of the minute of meeting of this Committee of 12th January 2004, wherein it was agreed to dispose of the above site to the Al-Maktoum Foundation. There was submitted Agenda Note AN91-2004 advising that the Foundation had indicated that they wished to take the title in a different name from the above-mentioned previous reference for business reasons.

As the Al-Maktoum Foundation urgently wished to progress the transaction, the Committee noted for their information that the Director of Economic Development, after consultation with the Convener and Spokespersons of the Other Groups, had instructed the Depute Chief Executive (Support Services) to note the change of the name of the purchaser.
