I SUPPLY OF NEW VEHICLES 2003/04
There was submitted Report No 15-2004 by the Director of Dundee Contract Services informing the Committee of fixed prices submitted by vehicle suppliers for additional new vehicles required by Dundee Contract Services for the financial year 2003/04.
The Committee agreed to accept the most advantageous offers as assessed under "Best Value" criteria for each category of new vehicle required from the undernoted suppliers:-

II DUNDEE CONTRACT SERVICES - SERVICE PLAN 2003-2007
There was submitted Report No 44-2004 by the Director of Dundee Contract Services seeking approval of Dundee Contract Services Service Plan 2003-2007.
The Committee agreed to approve the Service Plan 2003-2007 at Appendix 1 of the report.
III PURCHASE OF PLANT AND EQUIPMENT
There was submitted Agenda Note AN9-2004 advising the Committee that the Director of Dundee Contract Services due to timescales and in consultation with the Convener and Group Spokespersons approved the purchase of one Forestry Crane from Atkinson Vos Ltd, Lancaster, for 30,000 and one Chipping/Composting Machine from Harry West Limited, Shropshire for 19,000.
The total expenditure of 49,000 will be met from the revenue surplus generated by Dundee Contract Services, Parks Section, in the current financial year or by operating lease if considered appropriate.
The Committee noted accordingly.
IV PURCHASE OF FLORAL PLANTERS
There was submitted Agenda Note AN10-2004 informing the Committee that the Department provide a number of floral hanging baskets, troughs and patio planters throughout the city for various Departments and other clients.
In order to extend these floral displays to a number of areas of the city, offers had been invited from specialist suppliers as detailed below:-

The Committee agreed that the offers as underlined above be accepted amounting to 8,100 from Amberol Ltd and 16,350 from Plantscape and that the total cost amounting to 24,450 be met from Dundee Contract Services 2003/04 Capital Estimates for Public Open Space improvements.
