I DUNDEE'S HOMELESSNESS STRATEGY 2003/2006
On a reference to Article VIII of the minute of meeting of the Personnel and Management Services Committee of 10th March, 2003 and Article IV of the minute of meeting of this Committee of 17th March, 2003 the Director of Housing submitted Report No 216-2003 seeking Committee approval of the corporate Homelessness Strategy for 2003-2006 to meet the requirements of the Housing (Scotland) Act 2001 and the recommendations of the Homelessness Task Force.
The Committee approved;
(a)The content of the Homelessness Strategy 2003-2006 which would equip the authority with an Action Plan to eliminate homelessness in Dundee.
(b)The submission of the strategy to the Scottish Executive and Communities Scotland to inform the Homelessness Monitoring Group and the Director of Regulation and Inspection respectively, of the Council's planning work on homelessness during the next three years.
II CONFERENCES
There was submitted Agenda Note AN277-2003 giving details of invitations to attend the undernoted conferences:-
(a)SCOTTISH COUNCIL FOR SINGLE HOMELESS - HOMELESSNESS BRIEFING AND TRAINING FOR COUNCILLORS - 13TH JUNE, 2003 - STIRLING
The Committee authorised the attendance of two members of the Administration and two members of the SNP Group.
(b)CHARTERED INSTITUTE OF HOUSING CONFERENCE AND EXHIBITION - "NEW MARKETS - NEW APPROACHES" - 17TH TO 20TH JUNE, 2003 - HARROGATE
The Committee authorised the attendance of one member of the Administration and one member of the SNP Group.
