At a MEETING of the PERSONNEL APPEALS SUB-COMMITTEE held at Dundee on 17th March 2003.

I APPOINTMENT OF CHAIRPERSON

 

The Sub-Committee agreed to appoint Councillor Shimi as Chairperson for the purpose of this meeting and Councillor Shimi took the chair.

 

The Sub-Committee resolved under Section 50(A)(4) of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973 that the public and press be excluded from the meeting during consideration of the undernoted item of business on the grounds that it involved the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraph 1 of Part 1 of Schedule 7A of the Act.

 

II EDUCATION DEPARTMENT - REGRADING APPEALS

 

There was submitted regrading appeals (PA2) from employees within the Education Department.

 

The Sub-Committee heard the appellants' representative and thereafter the Council's representative.

 

After questions had been put and answers given by both parties to each other and by members of the Sub-Committee and its advisers, the parties withdrew.

 

Thereafter the Sub-Committee agreed that the grounds of appeal had not been substantiated and that the appeal be not upheld.
