III TAY PROJECT - ADOPTION OF ASSESSMENT MODEL BY SCOTTISH POLICE FORCES
There was submitted Agenda Note AN42-2003 on the progress of the Tay Project delivered by Dundee City Council on behalf of the Tayside Criminal Justice Partnership. It was reported that project staff had been invited to give a presentation to a national conference in Tulliallan Police Training College, involving all Scottish Police Forces. The subject of the presentation was the work the Project had undertaken in developing a risk assessment model for sex offenders, known as Tayprep30. The Association of Chief Police Officers in Scotland had subsequently recommended that the model be adopted by Police Forces across Scotland.
The Committee noted the recognition which the Tay Project had gained from Police Forces within Scotland and that an independent academic evaluation of assessment model Tayprep30 would be undertaken.
