Unless marked thus * all items stand delegated.

I PROVISION OF LOCAL BUS SERVICES FOR DUNDEE TO FOWLIS VIA ROYAL DUNDEE LIFF HOSPITAL

There was submitted Report No 606-2002 by the Director of Planning and Transportation advising the Committee of the tenders received for the continued operation of local bus service contracts in the Dundee City area.

The Committee agreed to approve the tenders as indicated in Appendix B to the report, subject to agreement being reached with Dundee Healthcare NHS Trust and Angus Council, regarding their financial contribution towards the cost of the contract.

II PROVISION OF NON-WHEELCHAIR JOURNEYS WITHIN THE TAXICARD TRAVEL CONCESSION SCHEME

There was submitted Report No 630-2002 by the Director of Planning and Transportation advising the Committee of the tenders received for the provision of non-wheelchair taxicard journeys within the taxicard travel concession scheme.

The Committee agreed to approve acceptance of the tender from Dundee Taxi Cab Co. Ltd as indicated in Appendix B to the report, subject to agreement being reached with the successful taxi operator to implement the introduction of a Smartcard scheme within the agreed specified timescale.

The Committee further agreed to approve a change in the condition for holding a taxicard. At present holders of the taxicard concession require to surrender their concessionary bus pass to qualify for the taxicard concession scheme as clients are only permitted to participate in one travel concession scheme. The Committee agreed that taxicard holders should now be permitted the flexibility to participate in either concession scheme.

ROBIN PRESSWOOD, Convener.
