I SECOND FOOD STANDARDS AGENCY AUDIT (FSA)
There was submitted Report No 598-2002 by the Director of Environmental and Consumer Protection advising of the outcome of the second audit, including the final report, executive summary, five areas of non-conformance in terms of the framework agreement on Local Authority Food Law Enforcement and proposed follow-up action.
The Committee agreed to:-
(i) note the contents of the report which were placed on the Food Standards Agency website on 1st August, 2002; and
(ii) accept the follow-up action detailed in the report to dissolve the areas of non-conformance.
II SCOTTISH WASTE AWARENESS GROUP SURVEY (SWAG)
There was submitted Report No 599-2002 by the Director of Environmental and Consumer Protection advising of the findings of the survey undertaken by the Scottish Waste Awareness Group in connection with the National Waste Strategy and the Tayside Area Waste Strategy.
The Committee noted the findings of the survey.
III TENDER RECEIVED - DEMOLITION OF MARCHBANKS DEPOT
There was submitted Report No 491-2002 by the City Architectural Services Officer giving details of offers received for the demolition of Marchbanks Depot.
The Committee agreed to accept the lowest offer by Trojan Contracting and DIY Limited amounting to 22,795.00 to which required to be added allowances of 12,300.00 making a total expenditure of 35,095.00.
The Committee resolved under Section 50(A)(4) of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973 that the public be excluded for the undernoted item of business on the grounds that it would lead to the disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraphs 6 and 9 of Part I of Schedule 7(A) of the Act.
IV COUNCIL DEPOT AT FOUNDRY LANE
The Committee agreed that the terms of Standing Order No.38 be adopted to allow the following item to be considered.
On a reference to Article VI of the minute of meeting of this Committee of 17th June, 2002, there was submitted Agenda Note AN180-2002 by the Director of Environmental and Consumer Protection about the disposal of the Foundry Lane Depot.
The Committee approved the disposal of the Foundry Lane Depot on the terms detailed in the agenda note.
