Cases Sub-committee - 23/11/2000

At a MEETING of the REGISTRATION AND CASES SUB-COMMITTEE of the SOCIAL WORK COMMITTEE held at Dundee on 23rdNovember, 2000.

The Sub-Committee resolved under Section 50(A) of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973 that the public and press be excluded from the meeting in order that the undernoted items of business be considered in private on the grounds that it involved the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in Paragraphs 1, 5 and 6 of Part 1 of Schedule 7(a) of the Act.

I EXTERNAL PURCHASE OF HOME CARE SERVICES

There were submitted Reports No.725-2000 and 744-2000 by the Director of Social Work seeking authorisation to exceed the limit of 336 in order to proceed with care packages in respect of three service users in Adult Services.

The Sub-Committee authorised payment as specified in the reports until either alternative care arrangements can be made or the cost of the package can be reduced to below the authorised limit.

II PROPOSAL FOR THE PAYMENT OF A GRANT TO NCH ACTION FOR CHILDREN (SCOTLAND) DUNDEEFAMILIES PROJECT

There was submitted Report No.743-2000 by the Director of Social Work advising the Sub Committee of a proposal for a payment of a grant to NCH Action for Children (Scotland) Dundee Families Project.

The Committee noted the contents of the report and approved the payment of a grant of 12,595 to NCH Action for Children (Scotland) Dundee Families Project.

It was further agreed that the Director of Social Work submit a monthly report to this Sub-Committee and that the local elected member be briefed as to the decision of the Sub-Committee in respect of this particular case.
