Dundee City Licensing Board - 18/07/2002

At an ADJOURNED MEETING of DUNDEE CITY LICENSING BOARD held at Dundee on 18th July, 2002.

Present:-

The minute of meeting of the Licensing Board of 20th June, 2002 was held as read.

I NOMINATION OF CHAIR

In the absence of Councillor Regan, it was agreed that Councillor Grant be appointed as Chairman for the duration of the business on the agenda.

II APPLICATIONS FOR RENEWAL OF LICENCES

There were submitted the undernoted applications:-

In the case of this application, the Board, after consideration of a letter of observation received from the Chief Constable, a letter of explanation from an agent on behalf of the applicant and advice from the legal officer and having heard the agent on behalf of the applicant, agreed that the application be considered as incompetent.

III APPLICATION FOR REGULAR EXTENSION OF PERMITTED HOURS

There being no objections, the Board agreed that the undernoted applications be granted:-

11.00 pm to 12 midnight Mondays to Sundays and 2.30 pm to 6.30 pm Sundays to cater for the demand from tourists and visitors.

From 11.00 pm to 2.30 am Mondays to Sundays to cater for patrons using the discotheque, including private parties, functions and dances and thereby to meet the need in the locality and for the benefit of the community in the locality.

IV APPLICATIONS FOR THE GRANT OF CHILDREN'S CERTIFICATES

11.00 am to 8.00 pm Monday to Saturday, 12.30 pm to 8.00 pm Sunday to the rear of the premises on the south wall.

11.00 am to 8.00 pm Monday to Saturday and 1.30 pm to 8.00 pm Sundays on the raised area only on west wall (Reform Street).

In the case of application number 1, the Board after hearing an agent on behalf of the applicant, agreed that the application be granted.

In the case of application numbers 2 and 3, the Board agreed that the applications be granted.

V APPLICATIONS FOR THE GRANT (INCLUDING THE PROVISIONAL GRANT) OF NEW LICENCES

There were submitted the undernoted applications:-

In the case of application number 1, the Board agreed that the application be granted.

In the case of application number 2, the Board, after having heard an agent on behalf of the applicant and agents on behalf of the objectors, agreed that the application be granted.

VI APPLICATION FOR MUSICAL ENTERTAINMENT CONSENT

There being no objections, the Board agreed that the undernoted application be granted.
