II DUNDEE PUBLIC HOLIDAYS 2003

It was proposed that the undernoted dates be fixed:-

The Council agreed to defer consideration of this matter to enable consultation to take place regarding a proposal from Councillor FitzPatrick that the Victoria Day public holiday be deleted from the above list and that it be replaced with a public holiday to mark St Andrew's Day.

III TAYSIDE FIRE BOARD APPOINTMENT SUB-COMMITTEE

It was reported that Tayside Fire Board at their meeting held on 28th January, 2002 agreed to establish an Appointment Sub-Committee to select and appoint a Deputy Firemaster.

Councillor Grant seconded by Councillor Glen moved that Councillors Regan and Mackie be appointed.

As an amendment Councillor Sawers, seconded by Councillor FitzPatrick moved that Councillors Regan and Barrie be appointed.

On a division, there voted for the motion - Lord Provost Letford, Councillors de Gernier, Wright, Ward, Presswood, Regan, Farquhar, Sturrock, Glen, Grant, Rolfe, Powrie, Mackie, Wallace, Scott, MacPherson and Borthwick (17); and for the amendment - Councillors Richard Beattie, Dawson, Sawers, FitzPatrick, Petrie, Guild, Corrigan, David Beattie, Fordyce and Bowes (10) - whereupon the motion was declared carried.
