Personnel Appeals Sub-committee - 23/04/2001

At a MEETING of the PERSONNEL APPEALS SUB-COMMITTEE held at Dundee on 23rd April, 2001.

The minute of meeting of this Sub-Committee of 16th April 2001 was held as read.

 

The Sub-Committee resolved under Section 50(A)(4) of the Local Government (Scotland) Act, 1973, that the public and press be excluded from the meeting during consideration of the undernoted item of business on the grounds that it involved the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraph 1 of Part I of Schedule 7A of the Act.

 

IHOUSING DIVISION - REGRADING APPEAL

 

It was reported that an appeal had been submitted by Housing Officers, Tenancy Services Section, Housing Department, in respect of a regrading.

 

The Sub-Committee heard the spokesperson on behalf of the appellants and thereafter the Council's representative. After questions had been put and answers given by both parties to each other and by members of the Sub-Committee and its advisers, the parties withdrew.

 

Thereafter, following careful consideration of all the information, the Sub-Committee agreed that the grounds of the appeal had not been substantiated and that the appeal be not upheld.

 

IISOCIAL WORK DEPARTMENT

 

(a) REGRADING APPEAL - TRAINING SECTION

 

It was reported that an appeal had been submitted by Administrative Assistants, Training Section, Social Work Department, in respect of a regrading.

 

The Sub-Committee heard a spokesperson on behalf of the appellants and witnesses and thereafter the Council's representative. After questions had been put and answers given by both parties to each other and the witnesses and by members of the Sub-Committee and its advisers, the parties withdrew.

 

Thereafter, following careful consideration of all the information, the Sub-Committee agreed that the grounds of the appeal had been substantiated in part and that the appeal be upheld to the extent that the posts be regraded to AP2 from 23rd April, 2001.

 

(b) REGRADING APPEAL - CLERICAL ASSISTANT - PHYSICAL DISABILITIES

 

It was reported that a regrading appeal in respect of a Clerical Assistant - Physical Disabilities, Social Work Department, had been withdrawn.
