I MINUTE OF MEETING OF THE BEST VALUE SUB-COMMITTEE
The minute of meeting of the Best Value Sub-Committee of 26th April, 2001 a copy of which is appended hereto was submitted for information and record purposes.
II SCOTTISH LOCAL GOVERNMENT INFORMATION UNIT - ANNUAL SUBSCRIPTION 2001/2002
It was agreed that a subscription of 3,030 be paid.
III HISTORIC SCOTLAND - CITY ARCHIVIST
It was reported that Historic Scotland had appointed Mr. Iain Flett, City Archivist, to the Scottish Burgh Survey Advisory Panel.
The Committee noted accordingly.
IV THE ETHICAL STANDARDS ACT IMPLICATIONS AND IMPLEMENTATION
It was reported that the Scottish Local Government Information Unit were organising the above seminar in Stirling on 18th June, 2001.
The Committee authorised the attendance of the Convener, or her nominee at an estimated cost of 75 excluding travel and subsistence.
V THE UK FUEL POVERTY STRATEGY - CONSULTATION PAPER
There was submitted Report No. 243-2001 by the Director of Corporate Planning advising the Committee of the proposals contained in the UK Fuel Poverty Strategy Consultation Paper issued by the Scottish Executive.
The Committee approved the comments in Appendix 1 of the report and agreed that it be forwarded to the Scottish Executive as this Council's response to the Consultation Paper subject to the addition of the undernoted paragraph.
"The impact of pre-payment meters can disadvantage those at risk of fuel poverty through, for example, higher tariffs and automatic disconnection."
