I TENDERS RECEIVED
There was submitted Report No.269-2001 by the City Engineer giving details of tenders received and requesting a decision on acceptance thereof.
(a) Morgan Academy - Removal of Internal Fire Damaged Elements
The Committee agreed acceptance of the offer which was received from Trojan Metals Ltd for the removal of internal fire damaged elements at Morgan Academy for the sum of 197,000 together with non-contract allowances of 45,000 and fees of 22,000 giving a total amount of 264,000.

The Committee resolved under Section 50(A) of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973 that the public and press be excluded during consideration of the undernoted item on the grounds that it involved the likely disclosure of information which is exempt in terms of paragraph 5 of Schedule 7A to the Act.
II ADMISSION TO SCHOOLS
There was submitted Report No.258-2001 by the Director of Education advising the Committee of changes to the placing request legislation affecting children entering Primary 1 and proposed procedures to deal with entry to Primary 1.
The Committee agreed to:-
(i)note the implications of the provision of the Standards in Scotland's Schools etc Act 2000 for placing request procedures in Dundee; and
(ii)instruct the Director of Education to continue to apply existing procedures for dealing with placing requests for Primary 1.
