I ECPD VEHICLE REPLACEMENT 2001/2002
There was submitted Report No. 223-2001 by the Director of Environmental and Consumer Protection requesting authority to lease two replacement refuse collection vehicles, two replacement hookloader vehicles, three replacement road sweeping vehicles, four replacement tippers and four replacement 3.5 tonne vans.
The Committee agreed to accept the offers to lease from the suppliers detailed below:-

II TENDER FOR THE SUPPLY AND REPAIR OF TYRES 2001/2002
There was submitted Report No. 221-2001 by the Director of Leisure and Parks requesting approval for the supply and repair of tyres for the Leisure and Parks Department for 2001/2002.
The Committee agreed that the offer submitted by Motorway Tyres and Autocentres, being the only offer, be accepted. The quotes given by the Company were the same as last year as no price increase had been levied by the Company.
III TENDER FOR THE HIRE OF PLANT AND EQUIPMENT 2001/2002
There was submitted Report No. 230-2001 by the Director of Leisure and Parks requesting approval for the hire of various items of plant, equipment and vehicles for the Leisure and Parks Department.
The Committee agreed that:-
(i)during peak periods the Department's own equipment plus items from other Departments of the Council, ie Dundee Contract Services and Environmental and Consumer Protection Departments may be used in the first instance;
(ii)accept the offers recommended by the Director as detailed in the report; and
(iii)to authorise the hire of machinery from firms making the next lowest offer in the event of the accepted offer being unable to supply machinery at the time requested, or in the quantity required. The circumstances will be applicable during peak operations in the Department.
