I REPLACEMENT HEATING BOILERS
There was submitted Report No 69-2001 by the Director of Dundee Contract Services seeking approval to proceed with the replacement of heating boilers at Dundee Contract Services Head Office at 353 Clepington Road.
The Commitee agreed to:-
(a)accept the tender submitted by Taylor Mechanical Services Ltd. for the amount of 33,685
(b)authorise Dundee Contract Services to carry out associated works to an estimated value of 6,314.30 giving a total cost of 40,000.
II DLO/DSO FINANCIAL OPERATING STATEMENTS FOR NINE MONTHS ENDED 31ST DECEMBER 2000
There was submitted Report No 107-2001 by the Chief Executive and Director of Finance appraising the Committee on the financial position of the City Council's Direct Labour Organisation (DLO) and Direct Service Organisations (DSO) for the nine month period ended 31st December, 2000.
The Committee agreed to:-
(a) note the current financial position of each of the respective DLO and DSOs;
(b)instruct the appropriate Chief Officers within each DLO and DSO to take the necessary actions to ensure that their DLO/DSO's budgeted surplus be achieved in the financial year 2000/2001.
III DIRECT LABOUR ORGANISATION OPERATIONAL PERFORMANCE FOR NINE MONTHS ENDED 31ST DECEMBER 2000
There was submitted Report No 108-2001 by the Director of Dundee Contract Services informing the Committee of the operational performance of the City Council's Direct Labour Organisation (DLO) for the nine month period ended 31st December, 2000.
The Committee agreed to:-
(a) note the operational performance of the DLO for the period stated; and
(b)where necessary, instruct the relevant Chief Officers within the City Council to take the appropriate steps to ensure the DLO achieves its performance targets.
IV SUPPLY OF NEW PRIVATE BUSINESS RADIO (PBR) EQUIPMENT
This report was withdrawn.
The Convener agreed that the undernoted item be considered as a matter of urgency in terms of Standing Order 51(3)(B) due to timescales involved.
V PURCHASE OF PLANT AND MACHINERY
Reference was made to Report No 750-2000 regarding Purchase of Replacement Plant and Equipment for 2000/2001. It was reported that the successful tenderer for one Pedestrian Rotavator (Allan Gammie) could no longer supply the item before 31st March, 2001. Authority was sought to purchase this item from the second lowest tenderer (Scottish Farm Machinery). The difference between the two tenders was 586 and the Leisure and Parks Department would pursue the original Company for the difference.
The Committee agreed to the purchase of one Grillo 131 Pedestrian Rotavator from Scottish Farm Machinery at a cost of 3,474.
