In cases of emergency or a crisis and providing you have nowhere else to stay, we can provide temporary accommodation.
The type of temporary accommodation we use includes furnished flats, some with supervision, hostels and Bed and Breakfast accommodation.
You will be expected to pay towards the cost of this accommodation if you are working. If you are on a low income, or benefits we will help you to claim for Housing Benefit.
If you are assessed as priority homeless you can remain in temporary accommodation until we find you a permanent home.
What will happen with my personal belongings?
We can help with the removal and storage of furniture if needed. Our homeless officer will provide you with information about the storage facilities and assistance we can give. We may ask you to contribute to the costs involved dependant on your ability to pay. If you are assessed as being in priority need we will continue to store your belongings until you accept an offer of permanent housing. We will then arrange for your belongings to be delivered to your new home.
