Beautiful Scotland 2016
Beautiful Scotland, which celebrated their 50th Anniversary in 2016, is a long-established community environmental improvement campaign which is run in partnership between Keep Scotland Beautiful and the Royal Horticultural Society. The campaign is based on the three themes of Horticultural Achievement, Environmental Responsibility and Community Participation.
We are delighted that both the Bonnie Dundee and Broughty Ferry in Bloom entries achieved a Silver Gilt Medal from Beautiful Scotland 2016, it is a fantastic achievement for Dundee and highlights the great work which is being done by groups and individuals throughout the city. Bonnie Dundee also achieved the Community Involvement Award which is awarded to the entry which demonstrates the greatest community involvement throughout the year within the three key themes of Beautiful Scotland.
It’s Your Neighbourhood
This is a community environmental improvement initiative managed by Keep Scotland Beautiful in partnership with the Royal Horticultural Society. It is designed to attract volunteer led community groups which are cleaning and beautifying their neighbourhoods.
In 2016, there were 12 groups in Dundee which registered with It’s Your Neighbourhood. This has included community allotments, planters, areas for wildlife and gardens from throughout Dundee. If your community group is interested in taking part in It’s Your Neighbourhood you can find out more about the initiative here.
Britain in Bloom 2015
