Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Both Recycling Centres at Baldovie and Riverside are open from 9am to 8pm Monday to Friday, and 9am to 5pm on the weekends.

Our Household Waste Recycling Centres (HWRCs) are now open to the public on a restricted basis, subject to national guidance from the Scottish Government. The changes to restrictions are detailed in the additional information, and cover revised opening times, acceptance of vans and cars with trailers, and changes to the range of materials.

To ensure guaranteed entry there may be the requirement to have a cut off point in the queue of waiting vehicles in advance of the advertised closing time. We would therefore encourage residents to plan their journey in advance to avoid being turned away due to the volume of cars in the queue being too long to accommodate them.

Residents are asked to use the facilities for essential purposes only.

Zero Waste Scotland have produced a useful guide on how best to manage household waste during the Coronavirus pandemic.

Dundee City Council currently operates the following Household Waste Recycling Centres within the city.

Site access procedures are in place with a 1.9 metre height barrier and  household waste tip permit scheme.

The two sites provide householders with the opportunity to recycle a range of household waste free of charge. All sites have trained operatives on the site at all times who can provide assistance and advice as required. Your continued support is very much appreciated.

Tyres in large quantities are no longer accepted at either household waste recycling centre.  If householders have less than four tyres to be disposed of these can be deposited in the bulky/mixed waste skip at each site.
