Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Our Household Waste Recycling Centres (HWRCs) will re-open to the public on a restricted basis from Monday 1stΒ June, subject to national guidance from the Scottish Government.Β The recycling centres will run Monday to Sunday, 9am to 4pm.

To ensure guaranteed entry prior to 4pm there may be the requirement to have a cut off point in the queue of waiting vehicles in advance of the advertised closing time. We would therefore encourage residents to plan their journey in advance to avoid being turned away due to the volume of cars in the queue being too long to accommodate them.

Residents are asked to use the facilities for essential purposes only which include general waste, garden waste, wood, metals, rubble, fridges & freezers, and gas cylinders & bottles.Β Additional information on the restricted service is available. (Mon 25 May).

Zero Waste Scotland have produced a useful guide on how best to manage household waste during the Coronavirus pandemicΒ (Tues 28 April).

Dundee City Council currently operates the following Household Waste Recycling Centres within the city.

Site access proceduresΒ are in place with a 1.9 metre height barrier andΒ  household waste tip permit scheme.Β Β

The two sites provideΒ householders with the opportunity to recycle a range of household waste free of charge. All sites have trained operatives on the site at all times who can provide assistance and advice as required. Your continued support is very much appreciated.

Tyres in large quantities are no longer accepted at either household waste recycling centre.Β  If householders have less than four tyres to be disposed of these can be deposited in the bulky/mixed waste skip at each site.
