Two air pollutants are currently monitored across Dundee, these being Nitrogen Dioxide (NO2) and Particulate Matter (as PM10). Monitoring of these pollutants are focused at locations where it has been recognised that pollution levels are close to or exceed the Air Quality Standards. In addition, monitoring is also carried out at number of locations, referred to as 'background' locations, where there are no obvious sources of the pollutants.
