Review of Rents & Sheltered Service ChargeEvery year Neighbourhood Services reviews the rent and other charges that we need to collect so that we can continue to deliver the Housing Service.
Neighbourhood Services aim to ensure that the highest quality of housing is provided for the people of Dundee in a safe and healthy environment. This can only be achieved through partnership working across all sectors.
The council strives to provide a continually high standard of service by consulting and engaging with tenants on decisions which involve them, and as in previous years we want to know what you think about the three proposed rent increases for council houses, and which one you would like to see brought in.
Other services that are not covered by the rent charge are instead fully met separately. Like the sheltered services charge, payable by tenants in receipt of these services, which is proposed to increase by 6.8% in 2025/26.
Your opinion matters, so please take time some to Get Involved & Have Your Say on the options available during this year’s Rent Consultation, which will be held from the first week of November, until December 22nd, 2024.
Keep an eye out after this date to see the results of the survey, Prize Draw and the next steps ahead of any increase in April.
Help and advice for people impacted by the rising cost of living is available from Dundee City Council, our partners and external organisations. Please visit the Cost of Living page for more information.
