Head of People
This service is responsible for shaping the council’s workforce within the context of a 21st century People strategy and ensuring an aligned organisational culture. It supports the delivery of the Council’s priority outcomes by enabling, empowering and engaging the workforce to maximise the employee experience and to inspire teams to deliver positive experience to citizens and customers.
Our data-informed teams support the talent management, people development, employee relations, wellbeing and employee journey of all our colleagues as well as the provision of advice to the organisation to ensure that the health, safety and welfare of employees - and all others affected by our operations - is protected. These activities all run alongside the promotion of good practice in employee engagement.
In addition, the service leads the council’s Business Support Service. The BSS’s operating model works to create a flexible and reliable service that can better meet each service’s specific needs as well as corporate needs. The approach includes introducing digital solutions and establishing a culture of sharing best practice and continuous improvement.
