Protecting people during the Coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak23/03/20
PEOPLE at increased risk of harm during isolation due to Coronavirus (Covid-19) have been reminded of where they can get help.
Dundee City Council’s protecting people team has issued a list of useful telephone numbers which will be staffed as far as possible while the outbreak is on-going.
Trudy McLeay chair of the Dundee Health and Social Care Partnership said: “Our very real concern, based on evidence that has been collected from other countries, is that there may well be an increase in violence against women and that children and older people could be more exposed to harm.
“Dundee’s future lies with its people. They deserve the best this city can give them and we will provide the protection they need, when they need it, to keep them safe from harm.”
Contact numbers for organisations including the Dundee Health & Social Care Partnership First Contact Team, Dundee Child Protection Line, Dundee Women’s Aid and the Samaritans can all be found at www.dundeecity.gov.uk/coronavirus-covid-19 under the "advice and support" tab.
