Serving up an Improved Tennis Court28/05/19
Baxter Park and Dudhope Park Tennis Courts are undergoing a £200,000 refurbishment, making them up to date for recreational tennis.
At both sites, new specialised tarmacadam surfaces are being laid, enabling rainwater to drain through the courts. The surfaces will also be painted.
This work will ensure that future generations are able to play tennis at these traditional locations.
Baxter Park will also benefit from new fencing and infrastructure.
Both sets of courts will be finished in time for the school holidays.
Councillor Anne Rendall, Vice Convener of Neighbourhood Services said:
“Continuing to seek to provide free and accessible facilities in our parks is important for all of us, not just for recreation but also for our health.
“We are aiming to get the work completed by the school holidays so that children, families and tennis players from all over city will enjoy the newly refurbished courts in the summer.”
Tayside Contracts will be laying the tarmacadam.
