Baby Shark Helps Dundee Adoption Campaign19/11/18
The power of viral internet sensation ‘Baby Shark’ is being harnessed by Dundee City Council in a bid to encourage more people to adopt children in the city.
Videos featuring community groups, the adoption team and council leader John Alexander singing the song will be released on social media over the course of Scottish Adoption Week (Nov 19 to 23).
The videos can be seen on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/dundeecityadoptionandfostering/
It is hoped that the light hearted clips, with the emphasis on the family, will encourage people to come forward and make contact with the city council’s adoption team.
Councillor Alexander said: “This is a great way to catch people’s attention and appeal to those who may have considered adoption.
“I would encourage anyone who is interested to get in touch and find out what is involved.
“This could make a huge difference for vulnerable children to help transform their lives.”
The adoption enquiry line is available on 01382 436060.
Dundee City Council is always looking for more adopters for our children, particularly for sibling groups, children of primary school age and children with additional needs.
People do not need to be married to adopt and the council is happy to hear from anyone including unmarried couples, same sex couples and single adopters as well.
