Dundee Trust Funding Announced18/10/18
The Dundee Trust has awarded over £70,000 to support projects working to improve lives across the city.
Earlier this year, the trust sought applications from groups and individuals looking for funding to go towards poverty prevention, education, and recreational facilities and activities.
Nearly 100 bids for funding were made to the Dundee Trust and 45 are being taken forward, with organisations and individuals due to receive funding imminently.
Chair of the Dundee Trust Councillor Craig Duncan said: “I am really pleased to be able to award this funding to such worthwhile projects.
“The money will go a long way to ensuring people across Dundee get the chance to fulfil their potential.”
A wide range of projects and organisations were successful in their bids for funding. They include:
- Weekly swimming sessions for adults with autism
- Warm outdoor clothing for children living in poverty
- Training opportunities for those who have experienced addiction and/or incarceration
- Budget cooking courses across regeneration areas in Dundee
Councillor Duncan continued: “I am delighted with the breath, depth and quality of the applications we received. I look forward to hearing what this funding has achieved and the difference it has made.”
