MORE than Β£261,000 of planned improvements to open spaces across Dundee could get underway in the new few weeks.

Councillors are being asked to approve a package that includes redesign and landscape improvement works, installation of an overspill car park in Greater Balgay, path and step improvement works to Finlathen Park, Riverside Nature Parks and Seven Arches, and bollard installations at Downfield Park.

In addition, seven play parks across the city could benefit from enhancement works.

Depute Anne Rendall Convener of Dundee City Council’s neighbourhood services committee said: β€œThis programme of improvements and upgrades keeps the city looking attractive and enriches our local environment making sure that everyone can enjoy it.”

β€œWe want this to make a positive contribution to the cityscape that can be cherished by visitors and locals alike.”

The neighbourhood services committee will consider the improvements at its meeting on Monday (August 20).
